The Designated Employer Representative (DER) plays a critical role in drug and alcohol testing programs and maintaining workplace safety. Through successful completion of this annual examination, the DER demonstrates the professional knowledge required to (1) qualify the individual as a DER under U.S. Department of Transportation rule 49 CFR Part 40 and (2) meet the requirements for the National Drug and Alcohol Screening Association’s (NDASA) DER certification.

CDER designation is a two-year certification.
